IMTA Alum Tiffany Thornton Cheers “Hatching Pete“

Disney Star Shines Brighter With Each New Project

I went to a big competition called IMTA and I met my agent there…It was very worth it for me; it was a great experience!” – Tiffany Thornton

It is good to be IMTA alum Tiffany Thornton right now, who is poised to become one of Disney’s most popular and bankable performers. Thornton currently stars on a hit Disney TV show, stars in a new Disney Channel Original Movie, performs the movie’s theme song on the music video, and pushes her singing career into higher gear with tracks on two upcoming Disney releases.

In Disney’s Original Movie Hatching Pete, Thornton stars as head cheerleader Jamie Wynn, much too popular, of course, to date someone like Cleatus Poole (Mitchel Russo), who is the school mascot—a chicken. When Poole proves allergic to a new chicken suit, his best friend Pete (Jason Dolley) takes over while still pretending to be Poole in the suit. The mascot suddenly becomes the biggest celebrity at Brewster High, which stirs trouble between the friends in both romance and competition. The music video of the movie’s theme song, “Let It Go,” which Thornton performs with co-star Russo, has just been released.

After attending IMTA in Los Angeles 2003, Thornton has since earned an enviable list of credits in her career by appearing on such hits as “8 Simple Rules…for Dating My Teenage Daughter,” “American Dreams,” “The O.C.,” “Desperate Housewives,” “That’s So Raven,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and “Hannah Montana.” She currently stars on Disney’s “Sonny with a Chance” as resident teen-queen Tawni Hart. But she promises she is nothing like her character on the show. “I have so much fun,” she says. “I just feel blessed to be working at all.”

In a recent interview for “Good Morning Texas,” Thornton revealed that she will be singing on the new release of Disney’s animated classic Snow White. Her version of “Some Day My Prince Will Come” will be a bonus feature on the DVD, scheduled for Blu-Ray Disc on October 6. She has also recorded “If I Never Knew You” from Pocahontas, a track that will be included on Disneymania 6 later this year.
