IMTA'S FEMALE ALUM MODELS ARE WORKING, WORKING...

IMTA Press Release Nov. 12, 2007

If you’ve been wondering why you haven’t seen much of IMTA supermodel Kim Lemanton lately, it’s because the NY93 alum has been just a little busy…changing diapers. She and her fashion photographer husband, James Bennett, had their first child in June. Lemanton modeled more than ever while pregnant. "I wanted to continue working," she said. "I thought it would be quite cute to show off the bump." Lemanton showed “her bump” for Nordstrom's, Bloomingdales.com, In Style, and Babytalk Magazine, among many others. She is with Next Model Management in New York.

Melody Woodin, IMTA’s NY04 Model of the Year, has become one of the most sought-after runway models for the top names in fashion. She recently walked in the shows of Viktor & Rolf, John Galliano, Y3, Badgley Mischka, Luca Luca, Oscar de la Renta and Christian Dior for their 2008 collections. Her favorite? “Any Dior show. Each one tops the last.” Woodin, who is represented by Women New York, Women Milan, Nathalie Paris and Independent Talent in London, is also featured in Nieman Marcus’ 100thAnniversary Christmas Catalog as well as Bloomingdale’s Fall Catalog. “Modeling, for me, was an alternative to heading into a university right away,” she said. “I wanted to take time to really think about what I wanted to pursue as a career.”

NY03 alum Jessica Cambensy was recently in Hong Kong for two months shooting ads for Clinique, L'Oreal, and Max Factor which can be seen in CosmoGirl and Marie Claire Magazines. She also shot several fashion and beauty editorials for local magazines and catalogs in the Hong Kong and China Market, as well as a TV commercial for Pond’s. “[I’m] basically just a 17 year old teenager chasing her dream,” said Cambensy. However, she added, “As much as I like modeling, I have other goals and dreams out there for me. I’d say my biggest dream and accomplishment would be happiness.” After a short rest, the busy young model of Filipino descent, represented by Power Model Placement, will leave for work in Japan.

In just two years, IMTA's LA06 Most Sought After Female Model has become a most sought after model internationally. Mariah Watchman, who also won Junior Miss Model of the Year, recently returned from a busy summer working in Bangkok. Her Native American beauty has put her in high demand through her contracts with Elite NY and Miami, Vision LA and Power Model Placement. "I'm probably one of the only Native Americans right now in the industry that I'm in," Watchman said. "I'm the only one I've met." In spite of the demand for her as a model, school is Watchman's current priorityincluding starring on her high school basketball team. "People recognize me even more. I was recognized from basketball, but people know me a little better.
