“When the Dark comes rising, six shall turn it back,Three from the circle, three from the track; Wood, bronze, iron; water, fire, stone; Five will return, and one go alone.”

Based on the acclaimed novel The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper, The Seeker: The Dark is Rising is the first film adaptation of the author’s Newbery award-winning The Dark Is Rising Sequence. The film tells the story of Will Stanton, a young man who learns he is the last of a group of warriors who have dedicated their lives to fighting the forces of The Dark. Traveling back and forth through time, Will hunts for a series of signs he will need to counter the rising forces of The Dark. With The Dark once again rising, the future of the world rests in Will’s hands.

In the film, Los Angeles 2001 IMTA alum Drew Tyler Bell plays James Stanton, older brother of Will. It is “a substantial role,” said Bell, who lived in Romania for the three-month shoot. The film also features Golden Globe Award winners Ian McShane (“Deadwood”) as Merriman, and Frances Conroy (“Six Feet Under”) as Miss Greythorne. The evil Rider is played by Christopher Eccleston (“Heroes”) and newcomer Alexander Ludwig portrays the story’s hero, Will Stanton.

Bell was cast in his first film, the drama/comedy Without Charlie, at age 15 shortly after attending IMTA. He played Jonny Young in Victor Salva's horror film Jeepers Creepers II in 2003 before landing his most popular role to date, as Thomas Hamilton Forrester on CBS’ long-running soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful,” for which he was nominated in 2005 for Outstanding Male Newcomer at the Soap Opera Digest Awards. Bell appeared on the TV series “Jake 2.0” and “All About Us,” and was seen in the 2006 films Her Best Move and State's Evidence, the made-for-TV movie “Love's Abiding Joy,” as well as in an episode of the Fox sketch comedy series “MADtv” and the Fox drama series “Standoff.”
